SSI Biography

SSI is the originator and developer of professional skysurfing & freeflying and has served as the worldwide governing body since 1995. SSI has staged dozens of world class pro events in North America and Europe, awarded $316,600 to skydiving athletes and seen over one hundred hours of dedicated TV programming broadcast around the globe in 21 languages. SSI Pro Tour is the special event organizing and sanctioning division of McKeeman Productions, Inc. based near Dallas, TX and one of only two sanctioning and organizing bodies that have served all six years at the ESPN X Games.

SSI has built a uniquely skilled and culturally diverse team composed of the sport's top professionals from throughout North America, Europe and Australasia. With more experience in these sports than anyone, the SSI team is the key factor in helping SSI Pro Tour to nurture a worldwide athlete base and define the sport as it is televised today. SSI TV is the television production side of the company that specializes in producing compelling broadcast programming of unique aerial sporting events. SSI is a business, not a club or association. Thier approach is to constantly research, develop and improve our 'product' while learning from our mistakes. They do this so that we can remain at the cutting edge of sport and still maintain the flexibility needed for business. Prior to the '95 Extreme Games SSI ran six annual world championships under another organization.

The goal of SSI is to provide the long term foundation for sky sport athletes to make a living doing what they love to do, so that we can all continue to share through the mass media, the passion that Charles Lindbergh first penned 70 years ago... it is a love of the air and sky and flying, the lure of adventure, and the appreciation of beauty
