Location: Roche Winery- Sonoma, CA Skydivers began experimenting with boards as early back as 1980. It wasn't until ten years later, 1990, that the coordination of a cameraflyer was first used in competition. Skysurfing has been with the X Games since the game's conception in 1995. Although spectators can not easily see the action, the sport offers some of the most excited Alternative sports footage!

Spiraling and spinning thousands of feet above the group, hurtling downwards with gravity while trying to stay within the frame of your partner's video camera. The choreography and perception of gravity and air pressure on your body and board have to be exact! Ten teams of 1 skysurfer and 1 camera flyer will each take 4 -50 second jumps. The top 4 teams will compete in a final round consisting of 2 jumps.
