Aggressive in-line skating
Organizer: The Aggressive Skaters Association
Aggressive in-line skating began on the streets when "pioneers" took traditional in-lining to the next level: grinding handrails, jumping stairs, and skating the halfpipes at local skateboard parks. Fast-forward 7 years, it is now a sport and a smashing success internationally. Another In-Line skating phenomenon is the tender age of the competitors, the average is years younger than among other X Games athletes. These two factors ensure each In-Line contest is more exciting than the last because each season a host of new professionals enter the circuit, each one bringing a new and unique bag of tricks.
This year a whole new generation of men and women skaters will be taking the course. Joined by the maturing champions, fresh faces will be put head-to-head against time-tested talent.
Park Skating
Location: Park Course- Piers 30/32

The park competition gathers 20 of the world's core street skaters and puts them up against the seasoned ramp veterans. The course itself is the same that the bike stunt riders and skateboarders compete on: filled with quarter pipes, spines, and street oriented obstacles like handrails and parking barriers. Riders have 65 seconds to put together a run that is judged on air, lip tricks, amplitude, and line.

Over the past 2 years aggressive in-line vert skating has progressed by leaps and bounds because of young international talent from Brazil, Japan, and Australia. The international exposure has helped elevate in-line skaters to almost godlike status in their respective countries. Fabiola da Silva, Cesar Mora, and Matt Salerno are now household names around the globe, as well as domestically.
