On The Road Pt. 5
We left OKC about 1pm and headed south. We got to Eisenburg Skatepark in Plano, TX around 8pm. We couldn’t have planned this any better... They happen to be doing inventory at the park when we got there, so they shut it down early, but let us session the park all to ourselves.

The theme of this tour is “the tour of serendipity”… I couldn’t ride because this was my last day to heal, but being a spectator was pretty fun. I had been to this park a few times, but they had completely re-built it, and there were some pretty amazing lines I witnessed. Kevin peddled really, really fast at about everything in there. Nate aired out of the mini at heights of about 10 feet… I’m not exaggerating. I guess no one told Nate mini ramps are for lip tricks. Cory was doing these tailwhip
transfers that looked like he had turned into his character in the game. It was unreal. Roof decided to flip that same line. (whatever…) I think the whole team is starting to think that the physics in the game apply to their reality now. Everyone else just went off, again, out of control, but nice to watch. I can’t wait ‘til I ride next. We got a
hotel in downtown Dallas and passed out.

Today it looks like we are going to go to the Lone Star Skatepark near the DFW airport and then cruise down to Austin. We got the park and, again, we were the only ones there. All the locals were in school and, unfortunately, flyers were made saying we were going to be there later in the day. Sorry to the locals. It’s a great park, though. You can ride, then walk 20 feet and put a bet down on a horse race. The vert ramp was great. I tried to ride the street course a little bit, but it was rough on my chest injury, so I retreated to the vert ramp. Simon Tabron is on the tour now, so we had an inauguration session together. The ramp was good and riding with Si is always good. It was his first session back from ankle surgery. We were in Zurich a couple months ago, and he landed a 540, and got his foot sucked under his bike and wrecked his ankle. I did the same thing that weekend on a combo air, but stayed out of the hospital. He did his first 540 since the slam in this session and it was huge. You would have never known.
